Our Founder

• The group was founded by late MIRGHANI MAHGOUB who was born in 1925 in WADI HALFA.

• He started his agricultural activities with sorghum plantation in the east of SUDAN ELGADARIF area since 1955.

 

• Activities has been expanded to the southern area of elgedarif to cover samsam area in 1969/1970 by establishing the “african plantation company” to produce cotton, sunflower and sesame seeds.

• Group total cultivated area is now around 40,000 hectares.

Number of companies has been formed since then those are:-

• ELNILEN ENGINEERING & SPARE PARTS COMPANY.
  DELTA FOOD PROCESSING & PACKING COMPANY.
  AL-MAHGOUB CLEANING & HULLING PLANT.
  COMMODORE TRANSPORT COMPANY.
  MAHGOUB SONS TRADING COMPANY.m

 

All above companies work in uniformity to serve the group agro-business activities.

About late Mr .MAHGOUB

The late mirghani was elected to parliament 1966 to represent new halfa as an independent candidate. His popularity was manifested in the landslide victory over candidates sponsored by SUDAN's popular parties. During his period in parliament, he was able to make substantial progress by solving problems facing the farmers in the agricultural production. He was involved in the development of the agricultural project in NEW HALFA.
 
He founded the first agricultural consultancy firm in SUDAN, which contributed to international professional studies on JONGLI canal project, RAHAD and KENANA projects. He was extensively involved in many other projects like the GEZIRA scheme, aweel rice production and packing of fruits in KASSALA and KHASHM-ALGIRBA dam.

To satisfy his convictions for agricultural investments and the need to have a total package for farmers, he formed the nilein engineering and spare parts company, which today hails the leading brand of MASSEY FERGUSON.

The late MIRGHANI passed away in GENEVA on 11th dec 1987.
